Topic: Perry County Area

I feel that we have a great area right here in Perry County to ride. We have hundreds of miles of trails already in existance that people ride every day. The Foreceam area, Kenmont area, Leatherwood, Buckhorn, etc.

And the best part is 90% of them all connect together. We would love to hear from people that know more of the trails around the Perry County area.

Let's hear from you!

Re: Perry County Area

Some of our best places to ride are the Buckhorn, longfork area which connect to either the Knott county trial system, or you can go into Breathitt county, and on into Magoffin county which has some excellent trails. We have also been going into Breathitt county to Naler's rock which is the highest point in Breathitt county, it is a beautiful ride and at night you can see the lights from Jackson, and Beatyville. We are hoping to have a ride going soon back to the rock and if anyone would like to go just let us know. We ride every weekend and if anyone would like to learn the trails on Breathitt, Knott, and Magoffin side we would be happy to show you, just leave us a message on this website or you can email me at Rowdyrider4@yahoo.com

Thanks for the welcome..and I will get with some Runners and hook up one weekend..and do some Black Trails for sure.
Yes kataonline.org has made some noise downtown frankfort...good noise..as I gave Lt. Gov., Brandon Smith, and Fitz  a copy of a resolution last weekend... which we want them to push to amend 2 KRS laws...one down the road for a fee will allow a user fee for not less than 7 days..now it is 30 days..and will kill a fee system...5 yrs away....no one will pay 20.00 for a 30 day permit.
The other will allow roads, streets, hwys that are declared by city, county, state governments as ATV friendly...to be used to allow riders to leave a trail..and ride to the park and unload lots, lodging and such..and CAN DO IT AT NITE. Once they say if they will support this..I will post their email addy's on here and get email sent to them asking to push it hard....politics..I hate it..but gotta play the game.

Re: Perry County Area

Hey all,

I am a pretty recent transplant to Perry County.  Not that I came from far off or anything, I lived and grew up in Knott County.

I've lived here in Perry about a year and half now, and I still know nothing of ATV trails around here.

I would love to find out more about were to ride, and who to ride with.

It used to be that I could ride from my house near Hindman in Knott County, and ride out to near where Magic Mart is, and that's the most I ever knew of riding Perry County.  That has been a good 10 years ago since we have done that too.  So I would definitely like to learn more.

I live nearby to Wendell Ford Airport, and from the number of ATV's I see around here on a daily basis, I know there has to be some good riding.  So far I haven't gotten to meet anyone to find the trails with yet.  If anyone has any information on riding on this end, I'd love to find out more about it.

Re: Perry County Area

Hello,

I would suggest joining our club and coming to one of our meetings to get to know the members. We would be glad to have you go riding with us. We have members all over the county and like to ride new areas all the time. You can download the form from this site and drop it off to me at Andy's Cycle Sales. Just ask for Earl and I will help you out however we can. Glad to have you on the form.
